Mad is a monthly satiric magazine created by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines in 1952.
In issue 197 the magazine spoofed Little House on the Prairie retitled Little House Oh, So Dreary, written by Dick De Bartolo and drawn by Angelo Torres. It was also spoofed in issue 194 of the UK edition.
Characters spoofed in issue 197 were Robert Alden, Nels Oleson, Eva Beadle, Hirim Baker, Lars Hanson, Charles, Caroline, Mary, Laura and Carrie Ingalls.
