    Melissa "Missy" Francis (born Vini Melissa Ann Francis on December 12, 1972 in Los Angeles, California) played Cassandra Cooper Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. A former child star as an actress, Melissa, as an adult, is now well known for her career as a television news anchor, journalist and commentator for the Fox Business Network (FBN) and Fox News (FNC).

    Prior to FBN, she worked at CNBC. She is currently the co-host of After The Bell weekday afternoons with Connell MacShane. She is also an anchor of FNC's Happening Now newscast. She is a regular panelist on FNC's afternoon talk show Outnumbered.

    Biography[]

    Born and raised in Los Angeles, Melissa graduated from Harvard University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.[2] Melissa had appeared in nearly 100 commercials during her acting career.

    A former child and teen actress, Melissa has appeared in the television movies, The Ghost of Flight 401, Champions: A Love Story, Son-Rise: A Miracle of Love, Midnight Lace, A Gun in the House, and Something About Amelia.

    She has appeared in the films Scavenger Hunt, Man, Woman, and Child, and Bad Dreams. She starred on the television series Joe's World (which aired from 1979 to 1980) and Morningstar\Eveningstar (in 1986). Missy guest-starred on shows such as "Mork & Mindy," Galactica 1980, When the Whistle Blows, Hotel, St. Elsewhere, A Year in the Life, ALF, and Hardball.

    In recent years, Melissa worked as a news reporter and anchor. She is currently a financial news reporter and anchor for Fox Business Network.
